Recently, Senegal played host to the 22nd session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the 4th edition of the Connected African Girls Coding Camp. The event was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Telecommunications of Senegal, in partnership with UN Women, UNESCO, UNICEF, and the International Telecommunication Union under the African Girls Coding Equals initiative
NAUTX was honored to participate in this event and contribute to the development of technology skills among 105 Senegalese girls aged 12 to 25 from different schools across the country. Our team provided training in design thinking, robotics, and 3D printing, and we were impressed by the intelligence, determination, and passion of the girls who participated. This experience reinforced our belief in the potential of women in the field of technology.
The Connected African Girls Coding Camp is a platform that promotes the participation of girls in the technology
industry and exposes them to technology, which is vital to their success in today's digital world. The event
provides a space for girls to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills while engaging in hands-
on activities such as coding, app development, and 3D printing. The camp aims to empower and encourage girls to
pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and help bridge the gender gap in technology.
At NAUTX, we believe that technology can be a powerful tool for economic development and social change. By empowering
girls through programs like the Connected African Girls Coding Camp, we can help to create a brighter future for girls i
n Senegal and the African continent as a whole. Our team is committed to continuing to support initiatives that promote
gender equality in technology and create opportunities for women in the industry.
